2026 Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund: Congratulations to Kiersten Downs and Donald Scott

Congratulations to two New York farmer veterans named 2026 Farmer Veteran Fellowship Fund awardees by the national Farmer Veteran Coalition.
Kiersten Downs, a U.S. Air Force veteran, runs Elle Pea Acres in Groton, NY, growing seasonal flowers and raising alpacas in the Finger Lakes.
Donald Scott, a U.S. Army veteran, runs Crooked Creek Cattle Farm in Middleport, NY, raising purebred British White Park cattle for grass-fed, grass-finished beef.
The Fellowship Fund provides direct assistance to veterans in the early stages of farming and ranching, helping turn hard-earned skills into working agricultural businesses. We’re proud to see New York represented among this year’s awardees.
