Cornell Small Farms - Farm Ops
Cornell’s Farm Ops project gives veterans, active-duty service members, reservists, and National Guard members hands-on agricultural training and scholarships - and FVC NY is working to help sponsor veterans’ course fees.
What It Offers
- Low- and no-cost workshops online, in the classroom, and in the field, covering everything from vegetable and livestock production to mushroom cultivation and full farm-business intensives.
- Scholarships that offset travel and accommodation costs for in-person trainings.
- The Farm Ops SITREP, a monthly email digest of events, training opportunities, and stories from fellow farmer veterans across New York.
- A statewide network connecting Farm Ops with veteran service and farmer-oriented organizations - FVC NY included.
How to Apply
- Visit the Farm Ops project page to see current course offerings and cohorts.
- Sign up for the Farm Ops SITREP to hear about new workshops as they're announced.
