Homegrown By Heroes
The official farmer-veteran branding program of America, administered nationally by the Farmer Veteran Coalition since 2013.
What It Offers
- A distinctive product label that identifies farm and food products as veteran-produced, giving your products a recognizable, honorable point of difference at market.
- Open to any veteran or active-duty/Guard/Reserve member with an Honorable or General (Under Honorable Conditions) discharge.
- Requires at least 50% ownership and 50% managerial control of the farm business producing the labeled goods.
- Comes with free FVC member support for food safety planning, marketing, and business development.
How to Apply
- Join the Farmer Veteran Coalition - membership is free.
- Apply for Homegrown By Heroes certification with your DD-214 or a letter of service (currently serving members provide a commanding officer's letter).
- Once certified, use the Homegrown By Heroes label on packaging, signage, your website, and social media.
