NY awards nearly $50 million through Farmland Protection grants to 43 farms

New York State is awarding more than $48.5 million through Round 20 of the Farmland Protection Implementation Grants Program to help preserve 16,005 acres across 43 farms, plus $1 million in capacity grants to six land trusts. The program still has more than $15 million available on a rolling basis through the Department of Agriculture and Markets.
