Veteran Spotlight: Share Your Farm Story
Posted in :
Throughout November, the month of Veterans Day, FVC NY will run a weekly Veteran Spotlight on our Facebook page. Each week we’ll feature a different New York farmer veteran and the work they’re doing on their land.
Leaving the military and starting a farm are both big changes. Many of our members have made that move, whether they’re running a dairy, raising livestock, tapping maple, keeping bees, or growing vegetables on a few acres. We want to share those stories so other veterans can see what’s possible here in New York.
Who can be featured
Any veteran farming in New York, from any branch and any era, at any scale. Full-time, part-time, just getting started, or decades in, you’re welcome.
What we’ll ask for
- Your name, branch of service, and county
- Your farm’s name and what you grow or raise
- A few sentences about how you got into farming
- A photo or two of you and your operation
You’ll see the post before it goes up, and you decide what gets shared.
How to sign up
Send us a message through our contact page or email info@farmvetcony.org. You can also nominate a fellow veteran farmer, as long as they’re on board.
